Friday Gifts

10 Mar

As if Friday is not enough of a gift in its glorious self, I received two amazing packages yesterday evening.

The first one came in the mail

And the second one came in the form of a handsome red-headed man in a green shirt

Said red-headed man holding wonderful wine. That is an early St. Patrick’s Day miracle if you ask me.

John normally returns home from his weekday travels on Thursday evenings, but this week his company needed him to stay until Friday. That meant a lot of frustrated text messages sent my way containing pictures of farmland and commentary on howling coyotes. His weekday life is a litttttle different than our weekend city digs πŸ˜‰

The intense amount of wine has an explanation too. I bought a Groupon for an online wine retailer and completely forgot about it … until I realized my bachelorette party kicks off this coming Thursday (!!!) and so I promptly cashed that sucker in.

And fate just so had it that the package would show up on a Friday. Thanks, fate!

Hobby, or borderline obsession? You be the judge.

Our Friday night consisted of a birthday dinner out on the town, and bed at a decent time. We’re off to a natural family planning meeting (more on that someday), and then we’ll see where the day takes us. All signs point to gym and relaxation πŸ˜€

What’s on the docket for your Saturday?

We’ve been to the gym and now Chuck is back in the basement working on the train. He’s made some mistakes that he has to correct before he goes any further. He realized they were mistakes when he woke up in the middle of the night. Tonight we’re going to Basil’s–a greek restaurant that George (our own personal Greek) gave us a gift certificate to almost a year ago. His wife works there but we don’t know her name. Anyway, about time we used it!!! Chuck has been off all week for spring break and we didn’t go anywhere so this is our mini celebration.

We’ve been to the Y and worked out with weights and we’re going to Basil’s tonight–a greek restaurant. It’s the end of Chuck’s week long break
