Florida & Football

10 Sep

Can you hardly believe your eyes?? I’m posting!

Fact is, I’ve dipped my toe back into the proverbial bloggery pond, and the water’s fine.

Speaking of water and how jealous you are that I recently spent some time at the beach, I’ve been horsing around in Florida for a long labor day weekend that included basically anything but labor.

Unless by labor you mean using nothing but my brain powers to will a beverage to enter my hand without having to actually move from my poolside perch.

Aside from learning how little energy I could expend while still existing, I had a blast in Florida with JC and one of our favorite couples around.

It was Labor Day, after all.

It was not easy by any means, but someone had to do all that laboring.

Other than our trip, the past couple of weekends were important for one more fundamental, urgent, absolutely crucial reason.

Football season. College football season.

After all, football season served as the conduit for the blossoming love between my now-husband and me. It all started with some good old-fashioned screaming and yelling over football.

After that first encounter, we actually didn’t speak for a calendar year.

Ever since that fateful day, John and I have gone head to head year after year with football bets. Insane stakes, endless taunting — there is no limit to this kind of love.

Fact is, I love college football almost as much as I love eating. And we all know that is truly saying something. So you can probably expect to see more photos like this

On the blog very soon.

And this is my blog, so turns out I can do that type of thing.

Be back later this week with some food-related items — in addition to goofing off, I’ve also cooked up a storm!
